Tangled Up in Blue – Rodney

20 × 16 inches | Wrapped canvas
Tempera paint on canvas

A lively tangle of blue, green and violet sweeps across the canvas, with broad strokes crossing, overlapping and occasionally disappearing into one another. There’s plenty happening here, and the longer you look, the more little details begin to emerge.

Rodney is one of Primate Rescue Center’s most playful chimpanzees, known for stirring up a little excitement among his troop mates. His painting has a similarly lively presence, with energetic marks and unexpected turns that keep the eye moving.

Fellow chimpanzee Martina also contributed to this original artwork, adding another layer to a composition already full of movement and color.
