A Force of Nature – Martina

30 × 24 inches | Wrapped canvas
Tempera paint on canvas

Martina knows how to make her presence felt, and this painting is no exception.

Rich magenta, raspberry pink and turquoise sweep across the canvas in broad, overlapping strokes. Some colors blend into softer lavender tones, while others remain bold and distinct. The densely layered brushwork creates a wonderful sense of texture and movement, balanced by generous areas of white canvas.

As the alpha female of Primate Rescue Center’s chimpanzee troop, Martina is confident, assertive and accustomed to holding her own. Her commanding personality makes a fitting introduction to this striking original painting.

Fellow chimpanzee Donald also contributed to the artwork.
