The Royal Treatment – Donald

14 × 11 inches | Canvas board
Tempera paint
Artist: Donald, chimpanzee

Rich layers of green, pink and yellow sweep across the canvas in thick, curling strokes. Colors fold into one another, creating a lively, almost playful sense of movement. There’s a lot happening here, and every glance seems to reveal another twist of color.

Donald has been the respected alpha male of his chimpanzee family for decades. He leads with a calm confidence, generally preferring a good meal, some grooming or a comfortable place to nap over unnecessary excitement. But don’t mistake his relaxed demeanor for a lack of personality. This colorful little painting is a fitting reminder that there’s more to Donald than his commanding presence.
