Zoe
Resident
Zoe is a female vervet monkey who was born in 2006 and lived in a private home in Tennessee for 20 years. She was placed for care at the PRC in July 2026 and now has the chance to live in a more appropriate environment with others of her kind. Shortly after Zoe’s quarantine period, she was introduced to Bob, another vervet monkey resident, and the two hit it off right away. This pair has been observed sharing their space nicely and enjoying long grooming sessions and snuggle time. They are very polite during mealtime, with Bob allowing Zoe first dibs on fruits and veggies as she adjusts to the wide variety of produce offered to her each day. She is a very quiet girl, but does give the occasional grunt of approval when she finds a cherry, blueberry or apple in the mix. Zoe is quite adventurous as she explores her home, utilizing all climbing structures, platforms, perches and firehose with ease and confidence. She is particularly fond of the “sky fort” — an enclosed platform at the very top of her outdoor enclosure, bringing blankets and enrichment along with her to the secluded area during her leisure time. When it comes to personality, she is chill and relaxed while still showing curiosity, wonder, a willingness to try new things and a desire to truly make the most of her new sanctuary life.
