Material Girl – Noelle

Noelle, chimpanzee
Material Girl, 2026
Tempera paint on stretched canvas
12 × 12 inches

Vivid magenta and electric blue sweep across the white canvas in broad, curling strokes, punctuated by playful splashes and delicate trails of paint. With its bold colors and dramatic flourishes, this little painting has no trouble getting noticed.

Neither does Noelle, when she has something to say.

Famously independent, Noelle is often perfectly content entertaining herself. But when food is involved, she pays close attention to what everyone else has. She’s curious about their snacks, particularly interested if something looks better than her own and not above asking for a share. And if Victoria so much as looks at something Noelle wants, she’s perfectly capable of making her displeasure known.

Noelle knows what she likes, knows what she wants and sees no reason to keep it a secret.
