Here Comes the Sun – Victoria

Victoria, chimpanzee
Here Comes the Sun, 2026
Tempera paint on stretched canvas
14 × 11 inches

Warm washes of peach and pink mingle with vivid orange, golden yellow and deeper crimson, filling this painting with the colors of a beautiful sunrise. Broad strokes sweep across the canvas, while smaller drips and scattered marks bring a little extra energy to the cheerful composition.

At 54, Victoria knows what she likes, and she isn’t shy about making her opinions known. She’s been known to police the antics of her more rambunctious companions, particularly Rodney and Ike, when they get a little too carried away.

But when the sunshine comes out, Victoria has other priorities. She loves nothing more than finding a sunny spot, stretching out and basking in the warmth. As long as Rodney and Ike don’t interrupt her nap, all is right with the world.

Her longtime companion Zulu also contributed to this colorful original.
