Zach Cato

Zach’s family is unsurprised that he joined the PRC Board because they recall his early years caring for a dear chimpanzee toy which he treated like family and took everywhere he went. He’s been fascinated with our primate cousins from an early age, and believes we have an obligation to preserve their place in our changing world, to protect their natural habitats, and to care for those primates that have been separated from it. 

Zach is an attorney by day, representing nonprofit organizations and business owners in numerous matters including contract negotiation, board development, compliance, risk management, land use, and litigation. He first learned of PRC through its Primate Pal program and still enjoys receiving updates about his Primate Pal, Peanut. Zach is originally from western Kentucky, and he resides in Lexington with his beloved wife and dogs. He joined the PRC board in 2025.
